Happy Halloween from Lifenote!

One notebook to rule them all…

Hi everyone,

The whole Lifenote team has been working hard to bring you the best tool in digital note-taking. There have been some bumps in the road, but slowly, we’re making progress towards our vision of a “paperless” world. You might have noticed that we changed the layout to our blog and our corporate website, as well. Soon, we are hoping to update the blog more frequently with news about our products and our team.

A lot of people have written us e-mails asking to buy the Lifenote Personal Tablet; unfortunately, we are only in the beta stages of both hardware and software for now. We are aiming for a release at CES 2010 in Las Vegas, and, hopefully, we will be able to demo our software to the attendees at the show.

Sea of Paper

Paper and pen. Mankind has used some variation of these two tools for millennia with little advance in productivity. Today, students, professionals, artists, workers, and executives alike are bound by the limitations of paper and pen, while swimming in a sea of paper and clutter.

Despite all the technological advances that were made in the past two decades, it seemed strange to me that nobody was trying to transform the way that we wrote and shared our writing.

With all our technological advances, what is there to stop us from creating a medium that feels as natural as paper? More importantly, what was “natural” today won’t be “natural” in the world of tomorrow (in the digital world, a day is like an eternity anyways). Younger generations are increasingly comfortable with both reading and storing their files in digital format. E-books, word documents, and PDF files that contain everything from novels, lecture notes, self-published materials, to bank statements are all gaining momentum. If not now, then when are we going to take advantage and change our habits of age-old tradition.

Pen and paper are not the end-all in the evolutionary process of our writing tools. Smartpens and Tablet PCs had the right idea, but Lifenote will bring it to the next level.
Join us on our quest to freedom from pen and paper. For a cleaner environment. For less clutter. For more control and collaboration in writing. For the ability to plan, design, doodle, diagram, and think digitally, anywhere and everywhere like never before.
